Police have denied suggestions there is an all out bikie gang war in western Sydney
Police have denied suggestions there is an all out bikie gang war in western Sydney but have said their may be revenge attacks after the Ibrahim shooting in Merrylands.
Sam Ibrahim, 45, was shot twice in the legs at close range outside his parents’ Merrylands home at about 6.45pm last night. He was taken to Westmead Hospital.
Acting gangs squad commander Wayne Hayes said the shooting was an attempted murder. He said a police gangs squad was investigating this attack as well as a drive-by in Doonside on January 11.
‘‘I do have concerns there may be revenge attacks,’’ he said.
When asked whether there was a bikie war breaking out commander Hayes paused in thought before he answered no.
‘‘Certainly there have been a number of incidents as you suggested before [but] a war, to use that term you’ve used, I would say no,’’ he said.DISCLAIMER:Text may be subject to copyright. This blog does not claim copyright to any such text. Copyright remains with the original copyright holder.
