Esteban Saidi was shot Wednesday afternoon

Esteban Saidi was shot Wednesday afternoon in the street about two blocks from Kearns High School.Investigators have linked the shooting to rival gang activity and say it could be retribution for a stabbing in Taylorsville earlier this month.
Saidi was with at least two other people when he ran into the shooter and his accomplice. A fistfight -- prompted by a long dispute between Saidi's friend and the shooter -- broke out just prior to the shooting.Saidi, 16, suffered one fatal shot to the torso.Two 16-year-olds surrendered to police about an hour after the shooting. Prosecutors plan to file charges Monday against the teens. If charged with homicide, the two will automatically be tried in adult court.
